Mazri

We have collaborated with Mazri and his talented team of batik artisans for more than six years. Their workshop, situated in Seberang Takir by the banks of the Sungai Terengganu in Malaysia, is where the artistry of traditional Terengganu batik happens. Currently, most of our handcrafted batik designs are produced in Mazri’s workshop.

Niezam

Niezam is a highly skilled batik maker from Dungun, Terengganu, where he practices the traditional canting batik technique in the workshop attached to his home. His hand-drawn batik pieces reflect the artistry and heritage of Terengganu batik. We collaborate with Niezam on unique hand-drawn batik designs as well as for our sister brand, INKAA.

Eri

Eri is a batik block maker and one of the few remaining artisans preserving this ancestral craft. Using thin pieces of metal, he carefully shapes intricate blocks that are used to apply wax onto fabric—a vital step in the traditional batik-making process. We collaborate with Eri to design new batik patterns, both for our own collections and for custom corporate orders.

Tapai

Tapai is a collective of differently-abled tailors in Terengganu, led by a group of dedicated women who empower their community through tailoring and skill development. Their mission is to support social inclusion by providing meaningful opportunities for marginalized individuals. We partner with Tapai to create a range of handmade batik accessories and to fulfill custom corporate orders.

HKY Collections

HKY Collections, led by the visionary artisan Khadijah, specializes in the traditional art of tikar mengkuang dyeing and woven crafts. As a master dyer, Khadijah brings vibrant colors and contemporary style to this ancestral weaving tradition. For more than six years, we have collaborated with her to create unique woven accessories and for our collections.

Refugee Groups

Many of our garments are made by skilled tailors from Myanmar who face difficult living conditions here in Malaysia. By working together, we hope to offer them greater financial security while developing new designs and garments for our collections.

Our batik products are traditionally handmade by two artisans in Terengganu, a state on the east coast of peninsular Malaysia. While there are various types of Batik techniques, we focus specifically on ‘batik cop’ (block batik).
Batik block usually uses shaped copper strips made from recycled tin cans, zinc or other disposable metals.
It is hard not to marvel at the beauty of Malaysian batik - the colours reflect the warm weather, the floral and geometric patterns are simply exquisite, and each piece requires a labour of passion and perseverance.

And it goes without saying, no two-pieces are the same.
